This year we join forces. The high school teachers and the physicists at the universities and in the industries. We are thrilled about this new prospect and invite all to participate in this joint physics conference held by the Danish Physical Society and the Danish Physics Teacher Association.

The two organizations wish to strengthen the understanding of physics within research and teaching by holding a joint conference for 250 physicists. We will present talks about the newest research within quantum physics and ultrafast measurements, particle physics, solid state physics, biophysics and physics didactics, workshops on specific teaching tools, and poster sessions at which students and teachers present their research and experiences.

The Danish Physics Teacher Association and the Danish Physical society are both non-profit organizations that work to strengthen physics teaching at a secondary and higher education level respectively. Last year, the Danish Physics Teacher Association celebrated its 100th anniversary, and this year, the Danish Physical society celebrates its 50th anniversary. The activities of both organizations are based on volunteer work and financial support from foundations and companies, as well as book sales and membership fees.

A Short introduction to the Danish Physics Teacher Association

The purpose of the Danish Physics Teacher Association is to work for the benefit of physics and astronomy education in Denmark. This is done by advancing the pedagogical and professional development within Danish physics education, creating opportunities for Danish physics teachers to meet and by representing Danish physics education in general. The association is open to anyone teaching physics or astronomy at Danish secondary education institutions and higher and other persons with a relevant affiliation.
