Caterina Vigliar

We are proud to present Caterina Vigliar as chair of the session “Quantum Communications”. She is currently Eurotech Postdoctoral Fellow at DTU Electrical and Photonics Engineering, High-Speed Optical Communications, Centre of Excellence for Silicon Photonics for Optical Communication.

She describes: “This session will bring together experts and leaders from academia, research and industry to share their latest breakthroughs and visions for the future of Quantum Communications, spanning from more fundamental research topics to applied field-trial demonstrations. The main topics covered will be directly linked to the main challenges faced by this field: practical quantum key distribution systems, scalable and practical quantum networks implementation (space, fiber or chip-based systems), decoherence and quantum noise, quantum photonic resources generation, optimization of photon loss in transmission, standardization of infrastructure (hardware and software), co-integration with classical networks, advanced encryption methods. Special focus will be on applications beyond quantum key distribution, e.g. quantum repeaters developments, entanglement distribution and error-correction.”
